About Internet Folklore

Internet Folklore is a publication dedicated to researching and documenting the folklore of the digital age: the stories, rituals, traditions, and shared narratives that emerge from online communities.

The internet has produced its own oral traditions, mythologies, and cultural artifacts at a pace no prior medium has matched. Much of this material is ephemeral. Platforms shut down, communities disperse, and context is lost. This publication exists to study and preserve that record.

Coverage includes the origins and evolution of online phenomena, the customs of digital communities, the way stories spread and mutate across networks, and the cultural patterns that repeat across platforms and generations of internet users.

All work is original research. Sources are cited.
